About Me

Christmas is over.

Christmas is over and now it's time to move on to the next holiday.  So here is my first valentine card.

I know that this is a bad picture but my camera is so far gone that I can't turn on the flash so that shadow is me  But the card was fun to make.  And I used some of the new items out of the Occasions mini.  These hearts were cut out using the new heart edgelits.  They are so easy to use and I can't wait to show you how.  It'll be a little bit of a learning process because these are considered "very thin dies" and you have to use both tabs on the Big Shot platform.  The lettering on the hearts was created by using a letter press plate.  It's the first time I've used one and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use and how nice the image turned out.  Did you notice the pink rhinestones?  They're in the Occasions mini as part of a kit called Blossoms Builders.  I'm going to try to post more cards in the next week or so but it  won't be right away because I'm going to the casino for the weekend.  See you all next week.

Reason for the Season

Yesterday I spent the day with my sister and the rest of the family.  There were a few of us there for lunch and everyone was there in the evening.  Laurel collects nativities.  Before she opened her gifts last night she was at 710.  So I thought that I would show you just a few of them.  They range from big table top sets to little tiny pins.  There's everything in between, figures, books, puzzles, candles, stockings, ornaments, window clings and just about anything you can think of.  They come from all over the world and in every medium that you can think of.

Merry Christmas

I haven't been posting anything because it seems like there's just not enough time to do it.  I have been stamping like crazy.  Didn't keep track but made a bunch of mini photo albums, decorated note books, calendars and note holders.  But then I just hurried up and wrapped them without taking any pictures.  But here is the last project.  I'm done.  There's a lot more that I could have done but no time.  Every year I say that I'm going to get started early but it never seems to happen.

This is an 8 1/2 X 11 calendar for Beth.  I love the new edgelits and that's a new stamp out of the Occasions mini.  Which you should all have by now.  If you didn't get one please let me know.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.  I hope you all get something that you love for Christmas and that the new year will be filled with wonderful things.

Emmy's christmas tree

Last night I went to Emilee's house for a christmas party and she has a beautiful christmas tree.  She does every year but this one was spectacular.  The picture doesn't do it justice but I really need a new camera.

Below is the top of the tree.  She had this peacock and then she added lots of sparkly branches to look like his tail.  Then she decorated the tree in the colors found in the peacocks tail.  It's a ten foot tree and she has 1400 lights on it.  But these pictures don't really show how beautiful it is.

Christmas cards

This is the card that I sent to my sister after I was inspired by her card.  I also sent it to my downline.  It's simple but totally appropriate for the Christas season.

And here's another card that I sent out.  I love the new edgelits from Stampin Up!  I ordered this shape but not the hearts and now I'm going to order the hearts.  They're so easy to use and I can't wait to show my customers.

Photo holder

Here's the photo holder.  You start with a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 card stock.  You're going to score it (hot dog way) at 2, 2 1/4, 7 and 7 1/4.  Then I scalloped the longer side but you can do whatever you want with it.  Now you need three # 10 business envelopes.  Seal them up and cut the end of the first one off at 8", the next at 7" and the last one at 6".  Then I scalloped the open end of the envelope but like I said before you can do what you want.  I also used the 1 1/4" circle punch and cut a half circle out of the middle of the open end.  Now take the longer envelope and adhere it to the card stock.

Then I cut two pieces of card stock 4" X 2".  Fold it in half and use it to make a hinge at the bottom of the first envelope.  Now adhere the second envelope to the hinge.  And then adhere the other hinge at the bottom of this envelope.  And last you're going to adhere the shortest envelope to the bottom of the second one.  Clear as mud, right??

Now you're ready to decorate.  I used DSP on the front of each envelope and a piece of DSP inside each envelope with a ribbon to pull the DSP out of the envelope.  The pictures go on the DSP.  You can use both sides of the piece that is inserted into the envelope.  You can decorate the outside of the card stock and add a belly band to keep it closed.  Hope this all makes sense but if it doesn't then send me an email or bring it over sometime and we'll see what we can do.

Christmas card

Don't you just hate it when you plan on doing something and real life interfers.  I wanted to post the tutorial for the photo holder but I ran out of time yesterday and now I'm on my way to an appointment in Lansing and tonight I'm going to a book signing in Chesaning.  But I will try and find time to post the tutorial.  In the meantime here's the card that I got from my sister and brother-in-law.  It's not entirely Stampin Up product but most of it is.  And I feel very honored to get this because I know that she only made 12 like this.

A couple of swap cards

Yesterday Ronda had a Baggie Book day and we also did a swap so here's a couple of cards from the swap.  It was great fun yesterday because we got to use all new stamp sets and some of the new accessories from the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration catalogs.  Can't wait for you to see the new stuff.

This was my card.  You can't see it on here but I scored two lines down each edge.  And I really need to get a photo booth built so I don't get all the shadows and the card would be correctly aligned.

Tonight, or maybe tomorrow I'll post a tutorial for a cute picture holder that is really simple to make.

No excuses

I haven't been posting anything because I haven't been doing any stamping.  I've got the Paper Palace cleaned up (except still have to mop part of the floor).  Got all the Christmas decor up finally.  So since I have no stamping to show you I'll show you some pictures of my tree.

I have four different themes that I rotate through and this year is just red and green.  I love the glass ornaments and there's very little else on the tree this year.  Some of the ornaments are from Italy, some from Germany and some from my Grandmother.  And a few are treasure found at garage sales.  I'm always watching for something different.

My Stampin Up! tree

Here's my Stampin Up! Christmas tree out in the Paper Palace.  I made all the ornaments except one that I got at convention a couple of years ago.

Here's a close up of some of the ornaments.

Here's a couple of pages out of the Christmas scrapbook.  This first one is the only one that has any stamping on it so if you know anyone who would like to make a scrapbook this one is super simple.

And here's a couple more pages.  If you want to take this class you must let me know by evening of Dec 1st so that I can order the supplies.

Christmas ornament

Here's a cute little Christmas ornament or a package tag.  First of all you'll need the two tag punches.  Now punch out eight shapes like the ones above.

Now your going to glue these shapes down onto some paper or cardstock.  You can use any colors or prints that you like.  This is some of last years DSP.  This is also beautiful in silver glimmer paper on velumn.  Anyway, you glue the first four pieces down in a square like above.  Line up the angles at the top of the shape.

Now your going to add the second layer of the last four tags.  Line them up like the picture above.  Check the bottom of the tag and try to keep them even.

Here's the two layers of all eight tags glued down to the paper.

Now it's time to start cutting off the part that you don't want.  I'm not sure how to explain it but your cutting away the bottom of each tag leaving the points.

And here's the final product all cut out.  It's really quite simply.  Once you've tried it you'll probably want to make a bunch of them.  One little hint.  You don't need to put glue on the bottom of the tag because your going to cut that off anyway.  So now you have a tree ornament or a package tag.

Hurrah!!!!

I'm of two minds today about what to post.  Regina and I put one of the dressers together today and I love it.  Then I had to leave to go to Chesaning and just when I was ready to leave she came back with Garret to work some more.  Then she said that Todd came and helped them and when I got home all the dressers were put together and they're wonderful.  So here's some pictures of the before and after of the Paper Palace.  Of course now I have a lot of sorting to do and putting things away.

You can't really tell the difference in the floor from these pictures but now it's a nice sand color with light and dark sprinkles in it.   And tomorrow I'll post the Christmas ornament that I made today.

Black Friday

Did you all get up early or stay up late to go shopping?  I'm not into losing sleep and I'm not planning on doing any shopping today.  I'm hoping to see some people come here and put together dressers.  I had a few tell me they would come so we'll see what happens.  I'm going to be busy getting ready for a vendor show tonight.  I still haven't been doing any stamping but I thought you might like to see something so here's a card that I really like.  It was made by Ann Schach.  And it's beautiful like all of her creations.

Hope you have a great day.

Online Extravaganza

Well, here it is the day before Thanksgiving and I've got a list about a mile long of things that I need to get done today.  But I wanted to remind you about the Online Extravaganza that is going on right now.  You've already missed out on the Simply Scoring Tool and the cookie press but have you looked at the rest of the list.  Just click on the Hot Holiday Deals button on the right to see what's on sale.  Then go to my Stampin Up! web page (www.lynnschulz.stampinup.net) to order online or let me know what you want and I'll order it for you.
One of the things that I'm excited about is the ribbon bundle.  If you like the Scalloped Dots ribbon then check it out.  There a bundle with Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive at 30% off.  Now is the time to stock up.  And there's a bundle of Glimmer Brads.  Get the brads in Basics, Bright and Subtles at 30% off.
I don't have any stamping for you but the dressers were delivered yesterday.  Now I just need to find someone to put them together for me.  Hopefully before next Weds. so that I have lots of time to get ready for tag class.

Home at Last

Finally got home last night about 8:30.  But of course we didn't come right, straight home.  We got into Detroit Metro about 1:20 and then I wanted to go to IKEA.  You know how it is.  We're close, so we should go.  Besides, there were some things that I wanted.  Like some 4 drawer dressers that are going to be the bottom part of my storage system in the Paper Palace. Oh, and Kris got the floor done while I was gone.  It's now a nice light sand color with darker sprinkles in it.  Anyway, back to IKEA.  I was so tired that I couldn't think straight so we took a break and went to Chili's and got something to eat.  Back to IKEA.  Got the dressers ordered and they'll be here tomorrow.  So instead of moving things back into the Paper Palace I'm going to be trying to find someone to help me assemble the dressers.  But it will be so worth it when everything is put together and things are moved back into place.
I'll post the rest of my Disney picture today on Facebook.  You can go there and look at them.  I just need to find a flat place to set the laptop up.
NOW, on to Stamping.  Today Stampin Up! announced a big shopping extravaganza in time for the holidays.  Just go to my Stampin Up! web pager here   www.lynnschulz.stampinup.net   and check out the great deals.  You can order online or let me know what you need but this is a time sensitive offer so be sure to check to see when things are on sale.  Some things are only offered for 24 hours and some are for a few days.  And some things are up to 60 % off.  What a deal.  I'll try and highlight different things each day.  So here's the first thing to know.  The Simply Scoring tool and the Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps are 20 % off on Nov. 21st only.  That's today so check it out.  If you've never seen the Simply Scoring Tool it's the greatest thing for scoring paper.  It makes everything so much easier so think about it.

I'm so tired

I didn't post last night because I was to tired.  I'll almost be glad to get home so I can get some sleep.  Today is the last day and we're going to the Animal Kingdom.  And then tonight we've got to get our bording passes printed, make arrangements to be picked up, get all our packages from the gift shop and pack my suitcases.  I know I'll make it but I'll never make plane reservations for so early in the morning again.  I won't post any pictures today but if you go to Facebook I'm going to put up a Disney album.  And then next week hopefully I'll get back to Stamping.

Oh no, it's Thurs.

This is the hot air balloon that Diane and Rolayne went up in last night.

Today we went to Epcot and I was a bad influence on them.  One of my favorite things to do at Disney is to get a pearl.  So we each got one in Japan and had them set in jewelry.  You get to pick the oyster out yoursel and they make quite a ceremony out of it.

We had lunch in England today.  Fish and chips.  This is the first time I've ever tried it here at Disney.  It was very good.  To bad there were so many mouths to feed.  We ate outside and there were tons of birds just waiting to join us.
We rode a few rides in Future World and then we went to the World Showcase.  Made it a little more than half way around the world today.  We'll hit the rest tomorrow.
