What's Up???

I haven't been posting because I had surgery last Weds and now I'm in the nursing home doing rehab.  I thought that I could just do some surfing and find some great cards or projects that I could put up here but it just isn't going to happen.  I can't always get a good signal on my pc and that makes it really hard to do anything.  BUT, I'm going home on Friday so I'm hoping to get back into the groove.  I'll still be doing rehab but at least I'll be at home most of the time.
Everyone keeps asking me about my level of pain but it's not really a sharp pain as much as really tired muscles.  Everything feels like my leg is really swollen and nothing wants to bend or stretch.  As Dolly Parton said, it's feels like I'm trying to pour 10 pounds of mud into a five pound sack.
But it is getting better and I know that once I'm home everything will be better.  I can hardly wait to get back to my own bed.

Card Class

Today was my regular March card class.  It's normally on Thurs but I'm having surgery tomorrow (hopeully if the weather co-operates) so card class was today.  Since all my books are out in the Paper Palace and it's sleeting I'm not writing to much about these cards.  I guess if you have questions you'll have to email me or comment and I'll get back to you.

The one above is using a new stamp set that will be coming out in the next big catalog in July.  It's called Four Frames.
This pink one is called Hope and Strength and it's in the summer mini.  This is a special fund raising set from Stampin Up!.  Some of the money from every set sold will go to breast cancer researh.

On this card we're recycling.  Do you recognize the carrot?  It's the blister pack from the snail adhesive.  I didn't think of this myself.  I saw a card last year done this way so I saved all of the packs from snail for the whole year.
This paper is some of the free stuff that you can get out of the Sale-A-Bration mini.
Here's a close up of the three layers on the front of the card.  I just off set the middle layer for a different effect.

I did this card in pink and it was beautiful but I decided that I needed to get away from pink so I tried Cajun Craze.  All of the ladies said that they liked it.
That's all for tonight.  Gotta go pack a few things and then get to bed.  Morning comes way to early.

More Springtime Vintage

Here are the rest of the items from the Springtime Vintage class.

I love these cases that can be used for cards or for an office on the go.  This one has paper, calendar, post-it's and a pen inside the case.  I can see me making a lot of these for Christmas this fall.

Springtime Vintage class

As promised here are pictures of the things that we did in my Springtime Vintage class today.  Just a reminder that this paper is in the Occasions Mini and only available until the end of April.

Sometimes the back side of the paper is totally different but also very beautiful.  I love the flowers but I love this simple pattern also.
And here's some flowers plus the tulip embossing folder and a beveled window pane.  Oh, there's also a key trinket on this one.

This is a little post-it note holder just the right size to carry in a purse.

Just a little different look from the second one above.

Do you like the button?  It's one of the things that you can get for free out of the Sale-A-Bration mini.
I'll post the rest of the things tomorrow.

Purse acessory.

You probably remember the bag that I got from Stampin Up! when I went to Leadership back in Jan.  And I got a wallet to match.  I just love this purse.  It's very light weight and has a lot of room in it.
Well, I decided that it needed another acessory to go with it so I made this.
It's like the card holders that we made at the Sale-A-Bration kick off but I made it to match my bag.  It's an empty stamp case and I used Early Espresso and Whisper White card stock.  I inked up the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with Early Espresso ink by using my brayer and then ran the white card stock though it.  Isn't this cool.  It matches my bag and wallet really well.  Some times I have good ideas.  I put a note pad, calendar and post it notes inside the case and I carry it in my bag.
I know that I said that I was going to show you the projects from my class today but I decided that I needed to show this while it was on my mind.

Swap Cards

Here's some swap cards from our last Rubber Queens meeting.  This first one won the card contest.  It's beautiful.  Heidi Wilkins made it.
This next one is by Sandi Dailey.

This next one didn't have a name on it so I can't give credit to anyone.

And this last one doesn't have any name on it.

Tomorrow I'll post the projects from my Spring Time Vintage class.  But of course it's to late to sign up for the class but you'll see what you missed.

Make and Takes

Last night at our Rubber Queens meeting we made 4 cards using the same stamp set.  And guess what?  It's a new stamp set that will be in the new catalog that comes out in July.  Along with the new stamp set we got to use some new designer paper.  Here are the cards.

I think that these cards are all really cute.  Last night I demo'ed the new Tulip Embossing Folder.  If you haven't seen it yet it's really cool.  Well, I showed how to emboss different sizes of paper and how to use the embossed image in a couple of different ways.  It would be really cool to post these things on here so you could all see them.  Except, I left them there.  I was going to pick them up the last thing before I went out the door and I totally forgot them.  Oh well, now you'll just have to wait until I can make some more.

My swap card from last night.

Here's my swap card from last nights Rubber Queen's meeting.  I totally copied this from someone but I don't remember who.  It's really a lot easier than it looks.  I printed a picture of the card and then I spent a couple of days trying to figure out how they did the big scallop circle.  Finally the light bulb went on.  Just cut a scallop circle on the Big Shot and then use your 1/4" punch and punch circles all around the edge.  I think it looks really pretty done this way.  And there's not much stamping on this card.  The verse is from God's Blessings.  And everything else is done with the Big Shot.  I used the Simple Flowers and Little Leaves embosslits, the Beautiful Butterflies die and I lied.  I did use the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, the little flower punch.  You have to cut the butterfly on the Big Shot and then run it through the embossing folder.  I used the Elegant Lines embossing folder on the butterfly and on the background.

We had lots of beautiful swap cards last night so I'll post some more tomorrow.
Just a reminder that today is the last day to RSVP for the Spring Time Vinage card class.  It's going to be lots of fun so let me know if you want to come.
