A "jazzed up" Christmas card.

Here's the Christmas card that we did at card class on Thurs.  I always do a Christmas card at class so that way you have 12 different cards by Christmas.  And while this card is pretty cool I decided that I needed to show people how to jazz it up a little.  I try to keep the cards pretty easy for class (doesn't always work) but it's not really that hard to bump them up a little.  So I think that I'm going to try to show that every card class.  This is the first.

And here's the way that I jazzed it up.  Just adding a little ribbon really made a big difference.  What do you think?  I'll try to post another card tomorrow.

I was designing cards for card class and I wanted a bright, colorful card for a little girls birthday.  Somehow it morphed into this pastel girly card.  Not quite what I had in mind but I like it.

I like the cone shaped treat holder that we did in class last week, or is that already two weeks ago?  Anyway here's another cute holder that Ronda posted on My Stampin Best Friend.

You're going to start with two pieces of card stock 5 1/2" X 2".  Score both of them at 1 3/4" from each end.  Then use you wonderful Scallop Tag punch and punch both ends.

Next you need a piece of card stock that is 1" X 8 1/2".  Score this at 2", 4", 6" and 8".  Then adhere the ends together and it should look like this.  Now you're going to make a box.

Put your two punched pieces one on top of the other and adhere the little square that you just made inside the two punched pieces.  Run your adhesive all around the square piece and attach.

Then cut a piece of Designer Series Paper that is 1" X 10"  and adhere is to the outside of the box.  It will overlap on one side.  Waa lal. (Is that a word?)  You've just made a really cute little box.

Now you can decorate it anyway that you like.  I made a little tag for mine using the bunny out of the Oh Baby stamp set.  I love this little bunny.

Gold cards

These are the first two cards that we did at our Rubber Queens meeting last week.  All the cards had gold on them.  This first one use the velum paper that has gold hearts and a strip of the gold foil.  And around the gold foil is some gold bakers twine and the greeting is embossed with gold.

This second card has the striped velum with more embossing and gold bakers twine.  Gold really dresses up a card.

Tomorrow I'll show you a couple more gold cards.

Last of card class

This is the 3-D item that we made at last card class.  I got the idea from Janet Wakeland.  I'll post the instructions next week or, if I can find the video that she made I'll post the link.  They are really very easy.   And here's a couple of close up's of the top.

I made a couple more for other holidays and I'll post them sometime.

And here's the last card.  It's a sunburst card and many thanks to Anette Solner I now know how to make them.  Just cut your strips about 1 1/2" wide and 4 1/2" long and then cut them in two by cutting them from corner to corner.  Decided how big you want the sunburst to be and then cut a piece of card stock for the base.  Measure it and mark the middle.  Just start adhering the strips at the middle and keep going around.  Here's a spring one that I did with other paper.

I love this one because it's so bright and cheery.  It would make a great Easter card.

More card class

Here's a beautiful Easter card and it's so simple to make.  The stamp is Blessed Easter out of the mini catalog.  And the embossing is the Decorative Dots folder that was free in Sale A Bration.  Hooray!  It's being carried over so you can still get it.

And my Christmas card for this month.  These didn't turn out exactly like I had pictured them but they're still cute.  And since there's no greeting I guess it could just be a winter card.  Hope you enjoy them but now it's time to enjoy the beautiful spring weather that we're having.  At this stage of the game anything above freezing is very welcome.
