About Me

Here's my first Easter card. This one is a treat holder. The card stock is 4 1/4 X 11 and folded up at the bottom and then fold the top down over the bottom just a little. This is the outside of the card. Here is the inside of the card. Put a couple of brads at the top of the piece that was folded up and you've made a pocket to put something in. It will hold a flat candy bar or a small, flat gift such as a hankie. Or you could put in a picture or a note. Just be careful when stamping the greeting on. The first time I did it I had the greeting upside down.

Nature's Nest

This card can be for any occasion that you want. The stamp set is Nature's Nest. The white in the middle is shimmer white with Taken With Teal, Night of Navy and Handsome Hunter sponged onto it. The feathers are stamped in those colors. The white is layed onto Night of Navy and Taken With Teal. I think that the card would be more masculine if it's done in shades of brown, rust and pumpkin. I'm going to go and try that. I always need more men's cards.

Rag Bag Class

I'm finally getting around to doing something that I've been thinking about for a while. I'm going to offer a class on making the rag, bag purse. Here's mine again. You've probably seen them around because it seems like every demonstrator has one. The class will be held on April 13th and you'll need your own sewing machine and 1 1/2 yard of material and some batting. If you want to take this class contact me and I'll talk to you about what you need to bring. The class will be $5.00. Believe me, this doesn't take a great deal of sewing skills. You only need to be able to do a simple straight stitch.

Birthday Card

Why is it that when you need a card in a hurry you can never find one that is just right? So tonight I remembered that I'm going out for dinner tomorrow and I needed a card. So I made this one. It's a case of one that I found online but I don't remember where. It's pretty simple and it's really pretty. The bird and the leaves are punched out with the Extra Large Two-Step bird punch. The leaves and flowers that are stamped are from the Embrace Life stamp set.

Here's a cute treat holder that I wanted to show you. I made it to take for show and tell at our Rubber Queens meeting last night but I totally forgot it. I got the plastic tubes from a company called Clear Bags. If you live near Greenville or Houghton Lake you can get them at Arnie's Arts and Crafts.

Rag Bag Purses

Have you seen the rag, bag purses that are so popular right now? I made a couple of them and here they are. I'm going to offer a class for these so be thinking about it. They're really easy and fun to make. This one is the first one that I made and I learned a few little tricks. I'm keeping this one for myself. I made this one to give to our Rubber Queens leader, Ronda. She says that she loves the colors and I'm so glad because I asked Tami and she never told me what color's she thought Ronda would like. This one turned out better than the first one and I made a big flower pin to match the purse but I never took a pictue of it.

If you think you would like to take this class please let me know and I'll find a date. The only requirement is that you need a sewing machine and material but I'll have a list of eveything that you need if you take the class.

Here's a card using a Sale-A-Bration stamp set. It's called Welcome Home. There's designer series paper that goes with this set and I'm sure that I bought it but do you think I can find it? I've looked everywhere and it's not to be found. So the DSP I used on this card is Sweet Pea and it goes pretty good with the stamp set. I made this a shower card because when someone gets married they usually move into their first home.
And remember, you can get this set free with a $50.00 order.

I know, I know. I've been bad about posting something here. I just can't seem to get back into the groove. But here's a couple of cards from last weeks card class.
This first one is really simple but some people had a real hard time trying to decide weather their bear was a girl or a boy. And then you had to pick out clothes for them to wear. And some people thought it was really funny because I said that you had to put the boys shoes on before the pants. They told me that they had always taught their children to put their pants on before the shoes. But bears are different. Take my word for it, their shoes have to go on first.

And then sometime during the evening someone dropped the ink pad onto my card. Good thing they're only samples.

Had to have a St. Patricks Day card. Most of the ladies said that they don't have anyone to send a St. Pats card to but they all made the card anyway.
I'll try to get back to Sale-A-Bration cards tomorrow. And I have a workshop on Sat. that will be a scrapbook class so I'll have to start working on pages for that. If they turn out good I'll post them here.
