Nautical cards

Last night was our regular demo meeting and this is the swap card that I did.  The stamp set is The Open Sea.  The center panel was stamped and then cut apart.  Then I thawked each piece and put the picture back together.  The hardest part was getting it back together with all the pieces in the right place because I turned the pieces over and then taped them together.  A couple of time I had to take the picture apart and put it together again in the right order.  But I love the look so it was fun.
And Ronda must have been thinking about boats too because this is one of our make and takes.  This card uses the bleaching technique.  We stamped the image with Versa Mark and embossed it with black embossing powder.  Then, using an old blender pen, we painted the sails using bleach.  Every color of card stock will bleach out but you never know what color your going to end up with.  This is Old Olive card stock and it bleached out to almost Very Vanilla.  You have to use fresh bleach to do this technique.  So pour some just before you really need it.  And be very sure to mark the blender pen that you used.  Do you like this image?  It's called Sail Away and it's a single stamp.  You can get it for only $9.95.
Well, I'd better get to bed.  We're going to Bay Cithy tomorrow morning for a funeral.  7:00 come pretty early.

  1. I loved, loved, loved your swap card Lynn!! It was my very favorite of the whole night. I have never seen one quite like yours (attaching them close together like that). I like your technique much better than others. Ronda's card was also my favorite make'n take -- I forgot, I need to check my bleach!!
