Paper flowers

Here's a couple of different flower bunches that I made for my tea party.

Well, bummer, I only have this one picture of flowers.  These were made with the new stamp set and punch in the Occassions mini.  Please don't make me go out to the Paper Palace to get the book just to tell you the names.  Anyway, I punched them out and then couldn't decide how to use them so I went to a dollar store and bought one bunch of flowers.  Then I took the blossoms off and glued my flowers on.  I think they turned out pretty good.

And since I don't have a picture of the other flowers here's one more paper project.  It's a fan made using the Simply Scoring tool.  If you want a scalloped edge you should score the card stock first and then punch the edge.  I tried to do the edge first and then score but the paper ripped to easily.

I have one more project to show you and then I'll move on to the other displays that were at the event.  There's some really cool ideas.

One other thing.  I know a lady in St. Johns who has a bunch of paper racks for sale.  So if you're interested in one just let me know and I'll give you her phone number.

A few directions

I've had a couple of requests for the directions for the tea caddy and the little favor purses.  So here goes.  For the tea caddy I measured the tea bags that I wanted to put in the caddy and decided that the caddy needed to be a 3" square.  So I used a 12" x 12" piece of card stock.  I scored it at 3", 6" and 9".  Then I turned it 90 degrees and scored along one edge at 3".  I also decided that I didn't want the tea caddy to be quite so tall.  So I trimmed 3" off the opposite side.  Then I cut up to the score line to form the bottom of the caddy.  On one of the flaps you need to trim it up about 1/2" above the score line so that there's a place for the tea bags to come out at the bottom of the caddy.  I hope this all makes sense and that the picture helps.

 Now, since the box is using all of the card stock just for the sides of the caddy you'll need to add a strip along one side for a place to adhere the edges together.

I hope this next picture helps you understand what the caddy should look like now.

And then you need a lid for the caddy.  You'll need a piece of card stock about 4 1/4" for the lid.  Score it at 1/2" on all four sides.  Cut up to the score line on opposite sides.  Then adhere the corners together to form the lid.

You're ready to decorate.  I won't show you how to do that because everyone needs to use their own imagination.  I suspose that this idea could also be used for sugar packets.  But of course it would be smaller.

Lets move on to the little purse.  They're pretty easy to make and oh, so cute.  Start with a strip of card stock that is 4 1/2" X 1 1/2".  Score this piece at 1 1/4, 2 1/4, 3 1/2 and 3 3/4.  You'll also need a strip of designer series paper that is 4 1/2" X 1 1/4".  I didn't score the DSP, just kind of folded it as I went along.  When you adhere the DSP to the card stock I would sugges that you start with the end that will be the flap of the front of the purse because the DSP will be just a little short.  I also used glue dots to adhere the card stock, the ribbon and the front flap because it kept coming loose. 

Here's the finished purse.  You need to add something for the clasp of the purse.  Here I just used a small card stock flower and a pearl.  It holds one Hershey Nugget. 

I think that these would be perfect for favors for showers, birthday parties and of course, tea parties. 

More Tea Party

Here's some pictures of the paper items that I made for last Sat's event.  What's the first thing that you need for a tea party?  Tea, and here the tea caddy.  It's the same as a 2, 4, 6, 8 box but I measured how big it needed to be to hold the tea bags so this one is a 3, 6, 9, 12 box.  I had to add a narrow strip in order to adhere it together.   Then it's decorated with the Tea Shoppe stamp set and the Twitterpated designer series paper.

And here's the invitation.  I got this idea from someone on Late Night Stampers but I totally forgot to find out who it was.  But I love the idea.

And here's the menu.  I did two different menu's because I decided that the first one (one the right) was a little to plain and I wanted to use the label framelits.

And it's always fun to have some favors at each place.  This idea came from one of my downline.  It has a Hershey Nugget inside.

Tea time

Well, yesterday was Ronda's Sale A Bration event so now I'll show you some of the items that I made for that.  First here is a picture of my table.  My theme was a tea party and I used the stamp set Tea Shoppe to make a lot of these items.

These first three pictures are of things that I made using the new material, Twitterpated, that is in the Occasions mini.  Here is my tea cozy.  I thought that I could make one of these without a pattern but I finally gave up and got a pattern and it's so simple.  So if you're into tea make yourself a couple of tea cozies using some the of the wonderful material by Stampin Up!

And here is a really easy pot holder shaped like a heart.  And this one is so simple that I actually made it without a pattern.

And for this cute apron I have to thank Jill Olsen for the pattern.  It's made out of a tea towel with just a little embellishment and some ribbon ties.  If you want to see a video on this just check out this web site.   www.stampingjill.com  She make is so simple to do.
