It might save my life.

Split Coast Stampers is having a contest and the grand prize is a beautiful storage unit by The Original Scrapbox. So tonight I submitted my entry. I would so much love to have one of these units. For those of you who have never seen the Paper Palace here are the photo's that I submitted. Don't you think that I need something to help me get organized?

Here' a couple more cards from last Thurs. card class. This one uses one of the Sizzix texture plates. I had a hard time trying to ink up the texture plate to get the color on it so I finally gave up and ran the card stock through the Big Shot and then added the color with a brayer. It was hard to get the color even but it looks better than it did when I tried inking up the plate.

This is just Soft Suede and Whisper White card stock and the pine cone is from the Autumn Days stamp set.

This next card is a very simple back and white card with the Music Expressions stamp set.

I will be posting some pictures of the Make n Takes that we did Saturday at our Holiday Hoopla. We used a half of a Simply Scrapping kit and make the cutest Christmas cards and a beautiful scrapbook in a box. You'll love it. Jan Tink was our guest speaker and she showed us some beautiful tea light holders that we'll be doing some time at card class. You should check out her web site if you have time. www.jantink.com . She's a great stamper and has the most beautiful cards and she's so funny. We spent most of the time laughing.

This is another card from yesterday's card class. For some reason the color didn't come out very well. The green is Mellow Moss and it's actually much prettier than it looks. I really like this stamp set, Branch Out, because it can be used all year. If the leaves were green then it would be summer, if they were pastel it would look like blossoms on the tree and there's a snowflake stamp in the set for winter.
Well, tomorrow is our big Holiday Hoopla and I didn't get a chance to go and get fudge in Frankenmuth like I wanted to. You know that old saying, that old age creeps up on you. Well, take my word for it, sometimes it gallops and carries a whip. I was at the Dr. office twice last week because I had such a horrible cold. Well, on Weds. my left foot was hurting but I thought that I had just bruised it. On Thurs it was hurting worse but I was busy and didn't really think to much about it. Well, finally about 6:00 in the evening I took my shoe and sock off and my foot was red and swollen. So this morning I called to see if I could get a Dr. appt and they said that I could see a physician's assistant. I took it. She took one look at my foot and told me that I have gout. What? I'm not old enough. I don't eat rich foods. None of that matters. It is gout. She gave me two prescriptions and assured me that it's probably just a temporary attack and might not recur for many years. I can only hope. Well, it's time to get to bed so I can be bright eyed and busy tailed tomorrow. After the Holiday Hoopla I'm going to a wedding reception. Guess I won't be dancing much.

Here's one of the cards that we did tonight at card class. Halloween is coming and this is a great stamp set to use on all your cards and scrapbook pages. This card is a straight copy from Kim Vogel but I love it so much that I just had to use it.

And we had a couple of real young stampers in our group tonight. Both Tiger and Allie came to card class. They didn't do a lot of stamping but they were very entertaining.

Now I need to get busy and get the cards ready for stamp camp next Tuesday. I've only got one that's totally done but I'll be ready by then. We'll be using the Delightful Decorations set. I've seen some really cute cards done with this set so I should be able to find enough ideas.
I can hardly wait for our Holiday Hoopla on Saturday. Our guest speaker will be Jan Tink. She's so creative and funny. And if she ever wants to give up stamping she can easily earn her living by writing. Her blog is so much fun to read. She loves chocolate so all of the Rubber Queens are going to shower her with chocolate on Sat. I'm thinking about going to Frankenmuth tomorrow to get some of their great fudge. That should make her real happy.

I'm getting ready for card class on Thursday night. If you want to come let me know by Weds. And next Tues is stamp camp using the new Delightful Decorations stamp set and the decorations punch. This class is $35.00 and MUST be paid by Sept. 23 so that I can get the supplies ordered.

This card box is one that we're going to make at a workshop tomorrow night. I cased the idea from Jackie Topa. It's just the right size for about 5 cards and envelopes.
And here's a Christmas card that I'll be demonstrating at the workshop and it's also a card that we'll be making at stamp camp. This is a really fun stamp set and the punch just adds to the fun. If you want this set now is the time to get it.

Today was our regular craft day at the Paper Palace. We used to say that it was a scrapping day and then we changed it to stamping and card making day. But there were some people who said they would like to come but they didn't scrap or stamp. So now it's just craft day and we have people who scrap, stamp, paint, knit, crochet and quilt. Mostly we talk and eat. Have you ever noticed how much better food tastes if you don't have to cook it.

I wasn't very creative today. I had lots of things that I planned to do but I just never got into the groove. I did finally make these cards using the "Of the Earth" hostess set and the "Cottage Wall" designer series paper. I love this paper. It makes everything look beautiful.

I had such a busy day yesterday that I was to tired to post these pictures last night. I just couldn't keep my eyes open. My niece's little boy was here all day long because his mother was in Grand Rapids with her brother and sister-in-law and their new baby boy. Tiger is a joy to have around but I don't get a lot of work done when he's here. But I did get a little stamping done after he went home. These are the Christmas tags that I've been working on for my Nov. card class. You probably can't see it in the picture but the reindeers horns are embossed in gold. If you use an erasable ink pen you can emboss it. So that's what I did. Just drew over the horns with the ink pen and then embossed them with gold powder.
In this picture the red scallop and the black scallop are made larger than the regular scallop by using four scallops and then adhering them together. You can put the corner of one scallop anywhere on the edge of the other scallop, matching up the scallops, to make them bigger. Does that even begin to make sense?

Well, I'm back home from camping and tomorrow I'll do some stamping but right now I have nothing new to show you. We went to North Higgins Lake to spend the weekend. We used to go to Mackinac City but then we realized that since we didn't do the bridge walk we really didn't need to go so far for the weekend and brave the crowds up north. We had a great time just relaxing and eating all weekend. I'm sure that I gained weight but I don't really want to know. We only went for ice cream twice but we ate a lot of everything else. The weather was beautiful and really cool at night so that makes for great sleeping. The moon was full and so we didn't even need a flashlight to go for a stroll at night. It was great.

Here's a note about our next Rubber Queens all day meeting. It's going to be on September 26th at the Morrice Senior Center in Morris, Mi. If you can come you'll learn lots of new things and get to make some awesome make and takes. Just let Ronda know if you want to attend. You can pay on her website. www.stampwithronda.typepad.com or you can mail her a check.

And here's the link to Brenda Van Woert's blog because if your interested in a fund raiser she's helping at a great one. Just check out what you can do for fun and help raise money.

Tonight was our regular monthly Rubber Queens meeting and we saw some really cool demonstrations. I'm going to be busy making some of them next week. This card by Sandy Haynes won the card contest. Isn't it beautiful? The next all day meeting is coming up on Sept. 26th. Everyone is invited. I'll post more information as soon as details are finalized but here's a sneek peek. We'll be making this cool scrapbook box. You'll have to come and make one for yourself to see how it works. This one was made by Brenda Van Woert. She used the Cottage Wall designer series paper on this. I love it.
I probably won't be posting much in the next few days because we're going camping and I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a Wi-Fi spot. My sister and my sister-in-law picked out some paper and stamps to take with them and do cards this weekend but I'm kind of lazy and I'm not planning on doing much of anything except communing with nature. You know, sleeping, eating, napping, etc.
I hope you all have a great Labor Day Weekend.
