Another Christmas card

Here's another Christmas card for you.  I've seen several this year that are in this shade of brown and I love them.  I'll try to show them for the next couple of days.  Tell me what you think.  I didn't do this card and I don't know who did.  It was part of a display that Sandy Haynes had at our last demonstrator meeting.

Did you notice that the ribbon isn't really ribbon?  It's a strip of material used as a ribbon.

Time for Christmas Cards

I think it's time to start thinking about Christmas cards.  Actually, if you've been to any of my classes the last few months we've been doing Christmas cards.  But it's time to step into high gear.  Christmas is coming way to fast and I'm not ready.  So I'm going to start showing you Christmas cards and I hope that you find a few that you like.  This first one is kind of an experiment.  I wanted to use a non traditional color and this little girl from Greeting Card Kids is perfect.  Kids winter coats come in all colors and so I used Calypso Coral for her coat and I really like it.  I did her stocking in the same color but I used a blender pen so they're not as bright a color as the coat and hat.  You probably can't see it in this picture but I put some Dazzling Details on the fur parts of her coat and hat to give it a little sparkle.  I cut the image out using the Window Frames framelits and then used one size bigger to cut the mat.  The embossing folder that I used on the white is the Framed Tulip folder.  I sponged some color on it to make it pop.  I used the Stamp A Majig to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the greeting and it's a little off kilter but I like it anyway.  And here's my first of many Christmas cards.  I'll try to post everyday because I'm sure that I have that many cards to show you.

Remenber you can always order online 24/7 or send me an email and I'll be glad to help you.

Day of Gratitude

How many of you send Thanksgiving cards?  Ronda asked that question the other night and there were very few who said that they do.  I usually send a couple to people who are far away but I don't send to those who live close.  And why not?  Just lazy I guess.  I've got lots of beautiful cards and lots more ideas.  So this year I'm going to send more Thanksgiving cards.  And Ronda helped this goal by having this card as one of our make and takes.  This is a pretty simple card but it's also pretty.  The stamp set is called Day of Gratitude.  So lets get those stamps out and get busy.
Also, remember that you can order from me anytime 24 hours a day.  Just send me an email or go to my Stampin' Up! web page and shop there.

card class

Here's a couple more cards from last weeks card class.  This first one uses a set called "The Great Outdoors".  I loved this set when I first saw it and had to have it.  Would you believe that this is the first time I've used it.  But someone wanted a retirement card and I thought this set was perfect.

This card uses a set called "Life Shared" and Storybook Friends"  The dsp is "Storytime".  They all co-ordinate so well together.

I bought a new scanner so that I can scan the tons of old family pictures that I have.  So I tried it out with these cards but I think that I still have a little bit to learn.

Faux metal???

This is a card that we did on Monday at Tools and Techniques.  I call it Faux Metal but there's probably another name for it.  It's pretty simple.  Just use a glue stick and cover a piece of card stock.  Then lay the aluminum foil down on the card stock and smooth it out.  Then we cut the top note and embossed it with the Northern Flurry folder.  I've done a few cards this way and I really like the effect.  It would be cool if I had ever bought a tool stamp set.  I think the chevron embossing folder would be perfect with a tool stamp.  And I don't know if you can tell, but I colored a large pearl with the silver metalic marker but it didn't look silver.  Just kind of gray.
