Back to work.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend.  I did.  Dinner at my sister's on Thursday and then left overs for a couple of days.  But now the leftovers are gone so it's on to other things.  I spent two days at the craft show in Chesaning.  Sold a lot of cards so now I need to get busy and do some Christmas cards for me to send.

Today's card

 

Here's today's card and since it's not yet midnight it's Weds. card.  Got this in a swap but I'm not sure who made it.  The detail is a little hard to see here but it's a beautiful card.

I was just getting ready to leave and go to Lansing for supper tonight when I realized that I hadn't posted a card yet today.  I'm going to try and get one posted every day.  Here's another cute Christmas card.  I made this one myself but Annette Sollner designed it.  I did it at a shoe box swap in Sept.

 

Here's another Christmas card and it isn't brown.  Do you like pink and blue?  This is a pretty simple card.  Snow flakes and a little bling.  Love that glitter paper.  And I don't know if you can see it clearly but the greeting is what happens when someone doesn't clean the stamp good.  I inked it up with Bashful Blue but it wasn't clean so it's kind of different colors.  Someone said that they liked it better this way but I 'm not sure how to duplicate it.

Look what I found.  I thought that I was done with the brown cards but I was surfing the web and found this beautiful card by Sandi Dailey.  She said that this was for a class she was doing.  She must have bought a ton of the glitter paper but it's so beautiful.  I love it.  I might have to copy it.

My last brown card.

 

This is my last "brown" card.  I think.  This is the card that I used for a swap at the Regionals last Sat.  I love the glimmer paper and the Illuminations ink.  Simple but very elegant.  So now that I'm done with the brown cards and this one has a snowflake on it I'll start showing you some snowflake cards. 

Open Sleigh

What's with me and the brown Christmas cards?  Here's another one.

 

 

This stamp set is called Open Sleigh and the embossing folder is Petals A Plenty.  The green card stock is Old Olive and there's a little piece of green ribbon tied around the brown ribbon.  I don't know who made this card because it's another one of Sandy Haynes swap cards.

Speaking of embossing folders, I know, we weren't but I'm going to.  Right now Stampin' Up! has a limited number of embossing machines from Sizzix.  So if you don't own the Big Shot and embossing is what you like to do then you might like this new machine.  Check it out on my Stampin' Up! page. 

Evergreen

 

Here's another "brown" card.  This is the Evergreen stamp set, some Champagne glimmer paper, the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and some ribbon.  Sheryl Spitzley made this card for a swap at a Rubber Queens meeting.  All of these componets are in the Holiday Mini.  I love this card.

Another Christmas card

Here's another Christmas card for you.  I've seen several this year that are in this shade of brown and I love them.  I'll try to show them for the next couple of days.  Tell me what you think.  I didn't do this card and I don't know who did.  It was part of a display that Sandy Haynes had at our last demonstrator meeting. 

 

 

Did you notice that the ribbon isn't really ribbon?  It's a strip of material used as a ribbon.

Time for Christmas Cards

I think it's time to start thinking about Christmas cards.  Actually, if you've been to any of my classes the last few months we've been doing Christmas cards.  But it's time to step into high gear.  Christmas is coming way to fast and I'm not ready.  So I'm going to start showing you Christmas cards and I hope that you find a few that you like.  This first one is kind of an experiment.  I wanted to use a non traditional color and this little girl from Greeting Card Kids is perfect.  Kids winter coats come in all colors and so I used Calypso Coral for her coat and I really like it.  I did her stocking in the same color but I used a blender pen so they're not as bright a color as the coat and hat.  You probably can't see it in this picture but I put some Dazzling Details on the fur parts of her coat and hat to give it a little sparkle.  I cut the image out using the Window Frames framelits and then used one size bigger to cut the mat.  The embossing folder that I used on the white is the Framed Tulip folder.  I sponged some color on it to make it pop.  I used the Stamp A Majig to add some Dazzling Diamonds to the greeting and it's a little off kilter but I like it anyway.  And here's my first of many Christmas cards.  I'll try to post everyday because I'm sure that I have that many cards to show you.

Here's a couple more cards from last weeks card class.  This first one uses a set called "The Great Outdoors".  I loved this set when I first saw it and had to have it.  Would you believe that this is the first time I've used it.  But someone wanted a retirement card and I thought this set was perfect. 

 

 

This card uses a set called "Life Shared" and Storybook Friends"  The dsp is "Storytime".  They all co-ordinate so well together.

 

I bought a new scanner so that I can scan the tons of old family pictures that I have.  So I tried it out with these cards but I think that I still have a little bit to learn.
