Spring Fever

When Ronda had the Sale A Bration kickoff our make and takes were all made using the Spring Fever Simply Scrapping kit.  Here's some pictures of the projects that we made.  We had lots of die cuts left over so I'll probably do a few more cards.

This is a cute card box that will hold between 4 and 8 cards with envelopes.  Great for a quick gift.

This we made this cute card holder.  It holds the 3 x 3 cards.

And here's one of the cards that we put in it.

And we did a photo albumn.  The cover is chipboard and the pages are accordian folder card stock.

And it was trimmed with some of the die cuts out of the kit.  Tomorrow I'll show you some of the cards that we did. 

More card class

Here's the rest of the cards from card class on Thursday.

This first card is actually from a Simply Sent kit.  The cards are very simple and you get everything you need in the kit except a stamp to put a greeting on.  I love the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set because there are so many greetings to choose from.  And if you could see the card you would see that the red at the bottom goes all the way down.  It's actually on the inside of the card but it doesn't show here because I had the card standing up. 

And we always need a masculine card and I love the wild animals.

Most of my ladies tell me that they don't send St Patricks Day cards but I love St. Patricks Day so I always do one.

And then we made a box to put cards in.  A box with four or five cards always makes a great present.

Card Class

Here's a few of the cards that we did at card class yesterday.

Here's the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Blossom punch. 

Here I used the Northern Frost sizzlet to cut out these beautiful snowflakes.  I bought the hot cocoa mix a while back to use just for this type of card and then I put it in the cupboard and forgot about it.  Well I found it last week and decided that even though it was getting towards spring I wanted to use it.  And then this morning winter returned so I guess it isn't to late to be thinking about hot cocoa.

Love, love, love this Rue Des Fleurs stamp set.  This is my first card made with it but it won't be my last.  Also love the Labels framelits. 

And what little girl could resist this card?  I didn't think up the idea but some wonderful Stampin Up demonstrator posted it and I copied it.  It would be very easy to change this to a Mickey card so maybe I'll be doing that, since I have more little boys around than little girls.

Candle stamping

This candle was part of my display last week at Ronda's Sale A Bration kickoff.  A couple of people wanted to know how to do this so here's the story.  You start with a piece of tissue paper.  It doesn't have to be new.  This piece was well used and I just ironed it flat.  It doesn't have to be much bigger than the image you're going to stamp.  I used Stazon ink because I wanted to use the markers to color the image.  Here's a little trick that I used.  Place the tissue paper over a piece of white or vanilla card stock.  Center the tissue paper and then color the image.  Then take the tissue paper and cut it out quite close to the image.  Here's an example from when I did it.

And here's the white card stock that was under the tissue paper.  I'll show you what I did with it a little later.

Now lay the tissue paper on the candle.  Here I added a frame made with the labels framelits in Baja Breeze card stock.

Take a sheet of wax paper and wrap it around the candle and hold it tight so there's no wrinkles in it.

Use your heat tool to heat the wax paper and the tissue paper.  You'll be melting the wax just enough to adhere the tissue to the candle.  It's really easy to tell if it's working because it will change color, king of like doing embossing.   It show's up real well in this picture.  When the whole image is heated just peel the wax paper off and you're all set.  If you look at the first image up above you'll notice that I added some pearls to the finished project.

And here's what I did with that piece of card stock that was under the tissue when I colored it.  It's kind of a muted water color image.  You have to have something under the tissue because the ink goes through so you might as well use card stock and make a cute card with it.

Beautiful Bird

Don't you just love it when I'm writing about something but I don't have my catalog right in front of me so I can't give you the proper name.  These items are all from Susan Wohlferts display last Sat.  featuring the new bird die for the Big Shot.

Isn't this beautiful?  Now that I've seen it used I have to have it.  It'll be on my next order.

Susan had these little hearts and the birds displayed on a branch and they were so cute. 

And she had some cards also.  I think this one is lovely.

Scraping outside the book

Today I'm going to show you some of Laurie Gibson display from last Sat.  You've heard the expression "think outside the box".  Well, when it comes to scrapbooking you should, sometimes, occasionally think outside the book.  And here's some of Laurie's ideas on how to do that.

So basically the idea is that if you create a scrapbook page that you really love then think about putting it in a frame.  Pictures in a frame deserve some decorations too. 

And then she did show us some traditional scrapbook pages.  Now sure if you can tell by this picture but here she used a 6 x 6 page, an 8 x 10 and a 12 x 12 page together to do one theme. 

More Sale A Bration stuff

Wow, I was doing so good about posting and then yesterday just got past me.  But I do have more to show you from Ronda's event last Sat.  Today it's Sandi Dailey's turn.  She showcased the new Attic Boutique paper and her display was beautiful.  Very vintage.

You should really check out Sandi's blog.  She does the most beautiful heritage albmns.

Don't you just love these cards.  But remember that this paper is in the Occasions mini so if you want some you need to get it before the mini expires.  I'm going to be ordering a couple more packs for myself.
