Flourish thinlits.
Have you ever bought a stamp set or a framelit set because there was one image that you loved? Well, it happens to me a lot. For instance, here's the flourish thinlits. I love the larger floral image but I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the set. Then I started seeing other people's cards and projects that used other images from the set and I was hooked. So in order to see what's in the set I cut out everything and mounted them on black card stock. Now I can see them much better and I have a new favorite image. It's the long, narrow image at the bottom. For some reason there's not much ribbon in the new catalog but if you have a card that you think needs some ribbon then I think that this image is perfect.
And here's a card made with some of the images. It doesn't show up very well because it's white on Soft Sky but you can see how I used that "ribbon" image. I think I'll be using it a lot.

More Flourish thinlits
I posted early this morning about the big box made with Flourish thinlits. I've gotten lots of comments on Facebook and someone sent me a link for a video on how to make the treat holder and the tea light holder so here they are. The treat holder on the left will hold two truffles or a couple of nuggets. Great for a wedding or baby favor. The tea light holder is just the right size for a tea light.
Here's a close up of the tea light holder. I tried it a couple of different ways. I think I like the one with the cut out top. But the one with the straight top is easier to insert velum into.
Flourish Thinlits
We had a Rubber Queens meeting last night and I took this beautiful box for the Show and Tell table. Someone asked me how to make it so here are the instructions.
First of all you'll need the Flourish Thinlits. You can make beautiful cards and projects with this set. Just search on Pinterest and there are lots of ideas on there.
You'll need two sheets of card stock that are 7 1/4 X 9 3/4 and two pieces that are 4 3/8 X 4 3/8.
The two bigger pieces need to be scored on the long side at 1/2", 4 7/8" and 9 1/4. On the short side score at 3 3/4" and 6".
Then cut off the two lower, narrow pieces as shown in the above picture and cut the center score line up to the 3 3/4" score line. In the next picture you can see where I cut off the two corner pieces.
Now you're ready to run the cardstock and thinlit through the Big Shot. Just line up the thinlit so that it's even on the two sides and the bottom. This does leave quite a wide top but you need that to be sure that the box is sturdy. You'll need to run each sheet through twice. Now you'll see why there's a score line at 6". The card stock won't go through the Big Shot unless you fold the bottom up. When you get done you'll use the two square pieces, one on the outside and one of the inside of the bottom to re-enforce the card stock where it was folded.
When you have both pieces run through the Big Shot you're ready to put together. Just adhere the tabs together. But you don't want a tab on the outside so put it together so that the tabs are on the inside of the box. Hopefully the picture above helps you understand what I mean. You could then adhere this piece down but I didn't. Personal choice.
Now it's as clear as mud, right? If you have questions please let me know. I went on You Tube and Pinterest and couldn't find the original video but I know that there's one out there somewhere.

Christmas In July
Time is flying by so fast it's unbelievable. I finally looked at the calendar and decided that if I was going to do a Christmas in July class it had better be soon. So, Christmas in July will be on July 21st. Only at the Paper Palace because I don't have enough tables at Penny Lane. We'll be doing 20 cards. Not sure but I think that it'll be four cards each of five different designs and it'll include the envelopes. The cost will be $35.00 or free with a minimum purchase. I am planning on doing another Christmas class sometime this fall because the Holiday catalog will be coming out in Sept and I'm sure there'll be lots of new Christmas stamps.
So here is the first card. This stamp set is Joyful Nativity. I took this picture with my phone is it's not the best. This is Night of Navy ink on Whisper White card stock.
I'll be posting more pictures in the next couple of days.
